Violent Women's Soccer Player Reinstated

Probably the only women's soccer you watched last year was a few small clips of New Mexico defender Elizabeth Lambert. She became a youtube sensation after the Lobos' 1-0 loss to BYU. Lambert consistently engaged in extremely rough play including reckless slide tackling, punching, and infamously yanking BYU forward Kassidy Shumway to the ground by her pony tail.
"I let my emotions get the best of me in a heated situation. I take full responsibility for my actions and accept any punishment felt necessary. This is in no way indicative of my character or the soccer player that I am. I am sorry to my coaches and teammates for any and all damages I have brought upon them". Lambert's remorse was met with an indefinite suspension.
Not only was Lambert's behavior completely out of line, it was dangerous. It was almost as if Elizabeth Lambert was on a John Rambo rampage through the forests of Vietnam. On several plays, she completely disregarded the position of the ball with an intent to injure a BYU player. An indefinite suspension was a light punishment; jail time would have been adequate. The pony tail throwdown was of equal brutality as Mike Tyson taking a chomp out of Evander Holyfield's ear.
On tuesday, Elizabeth Lambert was reinstated. She is eligible to play in her senior season. Apparently, Lambert will be a starter at center defender for the Lobos this year. New Mexico plays in the WAC (Western Athletic Conference), which includes teams such as University of Idaho, University of Nevada, San Jose state, New Mexico state, and Utah State. For all of those teams and the rest of the teams on New Mexico's schedule this season, buzz cuts and body armor are strongly suggested.
Hopefully Elizabeth Lamberts fury will be kept under control this year. But, if not, I'm sure the Rams or the Lions could use her physicality and aggressiveness for their depleted defenses.
